Greenwich Auto Dealership Employee Arrested

Man accused of stealing more than $10K from New Country Volkswagen/Audi.

A man who worked for New Country Volkswagen/Audi surrendered to Greenwich Police who obtained an arrest warrant charging him first-degree larceny stemming from the theft of at least $10,000 from the dealership.

According to Greenwich Police Lt. Kraig Gray, the suspect "was an employee of (the dealerships). He defrauded the business of funds. He was in a position to allow him access to funds. He defrauded several thousands of dollars. Gray would not say how much money was involved in the incident reported last October.

Silvano R. DiRenzo Jr., 32, who gave an address of 201 Woodland Ave., Yonkers, surrendered to police at 5 p.m. In order to be charged with first-degree larceny, a person must be accused of stealing money or goods worth a minimum of $10,000, Gray said.

DiRenzo was released on a writen promise to appear March 26 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
