Greenwich Car Crash Yields DWI Arrest

Stamford man charged after motorist waiting for green light is hit.

A 28-year-old Stamford man was arrested on a variety of motor vehicle charges including driving while intoxicated following a two-car crash near Exit 2 of I-95 early Saturday.

According to a Greenwich Police report, Juan A. Corado, who gave an address of 95 Greenwich Ave., Stamford, also was charged with operating without a license and following too close, in connection with the 4:07 a.m. crash on Dec. 17 at the intersection of Frontage Road and Delavan Avenue.

Corado is accused of hitting a car that was waiting for a green light at the intersection. Corado smelled of alcoholic beverages, had glassy, red eyes, slurred speech, was unsteady on his feet and failed field sobriety tests, according to the report.

He was released on a promise to appear Dec. 26 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
