Greenwich Driver Faces DWI Charge in Hit-and-Run Accident

A Greenwich driver is facing driving while intoxicated charge after he reportedly was involved in a hit-and-run crash in Stamford and then drove home, according to a Greenwich Police report.

Greenwich Police went to the home of Frank B. Spano III, 25, of 22 Amherst Rd. and found his vehicle with heavy damage to the right front tire and fender. Police "determined he was operating" the vehicle and subsequently failed field sobriety tests.

In addition to the DWI charge, Spano also was cited for failure to drive in proper lane and failure to obey a stop sign.

He posted a $250 bond and was scheduled to appear June 16 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
