A Greenwich man is facing a first-degree criminal trespass charge after Greenwich Police found him on a Greenwich Housing Authority property.

According to a police report, Maurice E. Smith, 24, of 37 S. Water St., is accused of letting himself into an apartment in the Wilbur Peck Court complex that's owned by the housing authority, about 11 a.m. Feb. 7.

He was arrested after he "acknowledged ... that he had been advised by (a) Norwalk Housing Court Judge, Greenwich Housing Authority and his own attorney that he could not be in or enter the residence" and used a key he had to the apartment to enter it.

Smith was released after posting a $1,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford.
