Greenwich PD Investigate Construction Equipment Thefts

Greenwich Police are investigating two thefts involving a construction equipment.

According to police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray, a trailer used for hauling construction equipment was reported stolen March 28. Workers at a construction site at 122 Riverside Ave. in the Riverside neighborhood of town had left the trailer, valued at $5,000, at the site on March 21 and when they returned on March 28, it was gone. The theft was reported March 30.

Some portable construction equipment, tires and tire rims were reported stolen from a storage unit on Oak Ridge Street in the Chickahominy neighborhood of town. Thieves forced open a door to the storage unit sometime within the last month, Gray said. The theft also was reported on March 30. A value of the missing items was not given.
