"In November of 2011 the Greenwich Police Department received a complaint from a female Greenwich resident regarding the conduct of Officer Donnell Fludd. The allegation centered on a dating relationship which had deteriorated to a possible criminal level. An investigation was launched and the allegations investigated.  Upon conclusion of the investigation, the facts were presented to the State's Attorney Office whereby a warrant was issued with a court date of February 21, 2012.

"Chief James Heavey stated Fludd has been on administrative leave since the alleged victim came forward. A separate internal affairs investigation is also underway. Because this is a personnel matter the Department will not comment further until the completion of the investigation. The Police Department is cooperating with the judicial authorities in this investigation and has assisted the alleged victim with facilitating domestic violence counseling."

Fludd is the co-founder of the Greenwich Flag Football League. Since it was founded 7 years ago, the membership has grown from about 75 children to about 900, considered to be one of the largest leagues in the country.

Gray said the department will not release any further details.
