Greenwich PD Roundup: Assault Arrest; Construction Tools Pilfered

Suspect accused of scratching victim; expensive construction equipment stolen.

 

An Old Greenwich woman was arrested on third-degree assault and disorderly conduct charges following an argument in her home, according to Greenwich Police.

According to a police report, the 34-year-old woman was arrested just before 7:30 p.m. Jan. 27 following an argument in her Sound Beach Avenue home. A verbal argument became physical and the victim was reportedly scratched during the incident.

The woman was released on a promise to appear Jan. 28 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Power tools stolen

Greenwich Police are investigating the burglary of a storage shed in the 1100 block of East Putnam Avenue where "several thousand dollars in large construction tools" were stolen.

According to police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray, the theft was reported Jan. 22. Thieves forced their way into the shed. Details on exactly what was stolen were not available.
