Greenwich Police Arrest Two on DWI Charges


Greenwich Police arrested two motorists in the past week on driving while intoxicated charges.

Daniel S. Kolich, 35, of 75 Josephine Evaristo Ave., Greenwich, was stopped by police after he was reportedly seen failing to stop for a stop sign on Frontage Road near the southbound I-95 exit 2 ramp about 2:45 a.m. May 6. He's accused of having red, glassy eyes, the smell of alcoholic beverages, slurred speech and failing field sobriety tests. 

Kolich was charged with operating with a suspended license, driving while intoxicated and failure to obey a stop sign. He posted a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear May 20 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Jose A. Guzman, 41, of 33 1/2 Catherine St., Norwalk, was arrested at 1 a.m. May 10 after police investigated a report that a driver of a car parked in a private driveway on Butternut Hollow road was revving the car engine. The residents told police they didn't know the driver and had never seen the car before. 

Guzman is accused of having red glassy eyes, an odor of alcohol and failing a field sobriety test. Guzman was charged with driving while intoxicated and failing to carry an insurance card. He was unable to post $250 bond and is scheduled to appear May 27 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
