Greenwich Police Foil Robbery Attempt [Update]

A Greenwich Avenue jewelry store is robbed of Rolex watches. Suspects apprehended.

Update 9 a.m., Sept. 27:

Greenwich Police said their investigation continues into the Sept. 23 foiled robbery of Rolex watches from the Lux, Bond & Green jewelry shop on Greenwich Avenue.

Police have released the mugshots of the pair of suspects - Raymond Andrew Nunes, 25, of 358 Prospect St., Brooklyn, NY, and Sarah White-Lebarre, 24, 11 School St., Terryville, CT. Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray said he would not comment on whether police recovered the watches or how many were taken. He estimated the value of the watches at "tens of thousands of dollars."

Gray also would not comment on whether police are seeking additional suspects. "The investigation is continuing," Gray said.

Greenwich police foiled a robbery attempt of a jewelry store on Greenwich Avenue on Friday afternoon. Two suspects were arrested and have a court appearance scheduled for September 30.

The Greenwich Police Department received a call at 3:15pm from Lux Bond & Green  concerning a robbery in-progress. An unarmed man reportedly took several Rolex watches from the store before leaving in a getaway vehicle which was waiting outside.

The vehicle was noticed a short time later by an off-duty Greenwich police officer, who followed the vehicle into a parking lot on Dayton Avenue near West Putnam Avenue.

The suspects then fled the vehicle with the off-duty officer pursuing them on foot. While the officer was giving chase, additional officers of the Greenwich Police Department, who were combing the area, apprehended one of the suspects.

Raymond Andrew Nunes, 25, of 358 Prospect Street in Brooklyn, New York, was charged with:

  • Robbery in 2nd degree (Felony).
  • Larceny in 1st degree (Felony).
  • Conspiracy to commit robbery in 1st degree (Felony).
  • Conspiracy to commit larceny in 1st degree (Felony).
  • Interfering with officer (Misdemeanor).

Nunes remains in custody at the Greenwich Police Department in lieu of $250,000 bond. Nunes is scheduled to appear in court on September 30.

Upon further investigation, Greenwich police arrested Sarah White-Lebarre, 24, 11 School Street, Terryville, CT. White-Lebarre is charged with:

  • Conspiracy to commit robbery in 2nd degree (Felony).
  • Conspiracy to commit larceny in 1st degree (Felony).

White-Lebarre is being held on $25,000 bond and has a court appearance scheduled for September 30.
