Greenwich Police Nab Driver on DWI Charge


A driver who Greenwich Police say was seen driving on the wrong side of the road on North Street faces a driving while intoxicated charge.

According to a police report, officers investigating a complaint about an erratic driver on North Street near Cotswood Road late Thursday, arrested Angel Chub, 49, of 204 Cove Rd., Stamford, after he was reportedly seen driving on the wrong side of the road.

Chub is accused of having a smell of alcohol on his breath, glassy eyes, slurred speech and failed field sobriety tests, according to the report.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, operating without a license and failure to drive right in connection with the 11:19 p.m. incident on Sept. 19. He was held in lieu of $250 bond and scheduled to appear Sept. 27 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
