Original story: Oct. 3

Greenwich Police are searching for a 17-year-old girl who they say ran away Monday.

The girl was last seen Oct. 1 at Greenwich High School. According to GPD's Special Victims Section Sgt. Mark Zuccerella, the girl "is a ward of DCYF" and was living at a shelter in town. She has runway previously but returned within 24 hours.

She was reported missing shortly after 3:30 p.m. Oct. 1.

Zuccerella said the girl may have gone to New York with a boy.

She is described as being 5-foot-2 weighing 125 pounds, with brown hair and eyes. She was last seen wearing green camouflage pants, a dark green sweatshirt and flip-flop type shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call 203-622-8030 or 203-622-8003.
