Greenwich Police Roundup — Arrests for Fighting, Threatening, Evading



Greenwich Police made several arrests over the weekend with charges ranging from threatening to evading responsibility.

A fight at the Mobil gas station at 623 W. Putnam Ave. on Saturday afternoon ended with one man charged with second-degree breach of peace. Peter Papadopoulos, 31, of 28 Ravenwood Rd., Norwalk, was arrested after officers determined he was the "aggressor" in a fight at the station about 4:45 p.m. June 20. He was released and scheduled to appear June 27 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

On June 20, John J. Duff, 54, of 200 Bedford Rd., Greenwich, surrendered at police headquarters where police had an arrest warrant charging him with evading responsibility, unsafe backing and interfering with an officer. The charges stem from an incident shortly after midnight May 31. He was released on a $1,500 bond and is scheduled to appear June 27 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Police executed an arrest warrant on June 20 charging Melodie Lynn Ellis, 37, of 8 Pilgrim Walk, Stamford, on June 20. Police were contacted by marshals at state Superior Court in Stamford that they had Ellis in custody. She was charged with disorderly conduct and threatening. She was held on a $10,000 bond and scheduled to appear June 27 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
