Greenwich Youth Charged with DUI, Evading

Police said the 16-year-old Greenwich youth, who was arrested via warrant, was involved in a single car accident on July 16 in the area of Indian Field and Sound Shore roads.

A 16-year-old Greenwich youth was arrested via warrant and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and evading responsibility on Monday, Sept. 3.

Police said the youth, whose name was not given due to his age, was involved in a single car accident on July 16 in the area of Indian Field and Sound Shore roads. Police said the teen, who had another youth in the car, fled the scene following the accident.

Police reportedly located the youth not long after the accident and noticed he was exhibiting signs of intoxication. He was subsequently transported to Greenwich Hospital, where a blood test showed he had alcohol in his system.

The youth, who turned himself in upon learning of the warrant, reportedly posted a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on 20.

Joseph A. Carey, 22, of Wilbur Peck Court was arrested and charged with first degree criminal trespass on Thursday, Aug. 30.

Police said Carey was located at his mother's residence at Wilbur Peck Court. He is banned from the property by the Greenwich Housing Authority.

Carey was released on a promise to appearing court on Sept. 7.
