Gun Turn-in Program at Greenwich PD on Saturday


Continuing their efforts to get unwanted guns off the streets, Greenwich Police will hold a firearms turn-in program on Saturday, Dec. 14.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., anyone can surrender unwanted, unloaded firearms and ammunition at police headquarters, 11 Bruce Pl. The department, along with Putnam Shell and Bennett Jewelers will be offering gift cards to those who turn in the weapons.

Weapons that will be accepted:
Rifles/shotguns
Handguns
Assault weapons
Non-operational weapons
Ammunition, carrying cases and holsters
BB/pellet guns and other weapons such as knives and swords

According to police, weapons should be transported in a vehicle trunk or carried in a bag or box. Ammunition should be carried in a separate container from the weapon.
