Harrison Police Continue Search for Car Chase Suspect

Police continued searching the area of Country Club Road in Purchase this morning for the man who lead them on a car chase Wednesday night.

Harrison town police said the man eluded them during chase that began in Harrison, looped through Connecticut, and ended in Purchase.

Harrison Police Chief Anthony Marraccini told LoHud that the pursuit started at about 6:30 p.m. after an officer tried to stop the suspect on Kenilworth Road. The suspect allegedly continued driving and made his way on to Interstate 287.

The suspect made his way north on Interstate 95, before looping through Greenwich, Conn., and crashing into a fence near White Oak Circle in Purchase. The man allegedly fled into a wooded area after the crash.

Marraccini told LoHud that the suspect, who as driving a Geo Prism believed to have been stolen from New Jersey, rammed into one patrol car several times during the chase, but the officer in the vehicle did not sustain major injuries.

The suspect, who authorities said has a history of violence, was described as being 5-feet-6-inches tall with a slim build.
