Hospital Employee Faces Assault Charge

Greenwich PD: Greenwich Hospital employee charged after the assault of a co-worker.

 

An argument between two Greenwich Hospital employees over cell phone use while working ended with one of them men facing an assault charge, according to Greenwich Police.

The incident shortly after noon Dec. 10 occurred in the hospital emergency room and resulted with one employee suffering head injuries, according to a Greenwich Police report. "...The co-worker charged the employee, grabbed the sides of his face and pushed to the ground" causing the employee to strike his head on a cement floor, according to the report.

Wagner J. Fils, 43, of 15 St. Roch Ave., Greenwich, was charged with third-degree assault and breach of peace. He was released after posting a $100 bond and is scheduled to appear Dec. 17 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Further information on the injured employee was not provided.
