Hotel Theft Leads to Greenwich Woman's Arrest

A woman faces larceny and trespass charges after the theft of a laptop from the Hyatt Regency Greenwich was caught on a hotel security camera.

According to a Greenwich Police report, Janet L. Fitzgerald, 52, who gave an address of 33 N. Lakeview Dr., Greenwich was arrested after she returned to the hotel at 1800 E. Putnam Ave. the day after the Aug. 21 theft. She was found to "still have the stolen property on her person," according to the report.

Fitzgerald was charged with simple trespass and forth-degree larceny. She was unable to post $10,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear Aug. 30 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
