Police: Husband Assaults Wife As She Reads to Kids


A Greenwich man is facing third-degree assault and risk of injury to a minor charges following a domestic dispute with his wife.

According to a Greenwich Police report, the 41-year-old man is accused of being intoxicated and that while his wife was reading to her twin children, the "husband suddenly threw her down where she struck her head on the hardwood floor nearly striking the twin's crib."

The husband "refused to provide his accounts of the Feb. 10 incident," according to the report. The man was unable to post a $5,000 bond. His case is awaiting disposition in state Superior Court in Stamford and his next appearance is scheduled for March 18, according to the CT Judicial Branch website.

The report did not indicate whether the victim needed medical treatment.
