Illegally Parked Truck Leads to DWI Arrest

A pickup truck parked on a sidewalk—with the driver's door ajar— is sure to catch the attention of police, especially at 2 o'clock in the morning on a Saturday.

That's what Greenwich Police say happened on Oct. 5 and led to the arrest of the man found asleep behind the wheel of a red Ford Ranger pickup parked on the sidewalk in front of 21 Holly Hill Ln. Officers found the keys in the ignition and the vehicle running, according to a police report.

Officers awakened the driver, identified as Arcangelo M. Vincoli, 58, of 15 Pheasant Ln., New Milford. According to the report, Vincoli had the odor of alcoholic beverages on his breath and failed field sobriety tests.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated and parking a motor vehicle on a sidewalk. He was released after posting a $250 bond and scheduled to appear Oct. 18 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
