Jewelry Taken During Old Greenwich Burglary

Greenwich Police are investigating the burglary of an Old Greenwich home during which jewelry worth several thousand dollars was taken.

Lt. Robert Berry said the residents discovered the break-in and theft when they returned from vacation and called police about 6:40 p.m. Aug. 12.

A ground level window of the Harding Road home was forced open, Berry said. Police are waiting for an inventory list from the resident.

Berry said residents can notify police when they are out of town. "They can call our dispatchers and be put on a computerized list. We know what houses are going to be vacant and if we see something suspicious, we know to check it," Berry said.

Residents can call the non-emergency number 203 622-8004.
