Greenwich PD: Suspicious package turned out to be a 'A lunch pail with some pipes.'

A lunch pail left on the platform of the Old Greenwich train station caused the closure of the station platform for about an hour Friday afternoon, after Metro-North Police received reports of a suspicious package shortly before 3 o'clock.

According to Greenwich Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray, Metro-North police requested Greenwich Police respond to the station off Sound Beach Avenue to assist with clearing the area.

The Stamford Police Bomb Squad was brought in. "It was a lunch pail with some pipes in it. It was nothing," Gray said.
