Man Admits to Being Illegal Alien Arrested

A Port Chester, NY man has been arrested on a failure to appear in court charge stemming from the theft of money from a car parked on Comly Avenue.

According to a Greenwich Police report, Charles C. Green, 50, of 419 Franklin St., was arrested Wednesday. He is accused of not appearing in court on a 5th-degree larceny charge. He originally was arrested Aug. 5 in connection with the theft of $420 from a parked car.

He was held in lieu of $500 bond and scheduled to appear May 4 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A town woman who already faces forgery, identity theft and larency charges is now accused of failing to appear in court on those charges.

Laura R. Amoit, 22, of 31 Doubling Road, was arrested Tuesday afternoon on the 1st-degree failure to appear in court.  She originally was arrested in April 2010 in connection with the theft and cashing of checks from the Cos Cob flower shop where she was employed, according to Greenwich Police.

Amoit was held in lieu of $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear Wednesday in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A domestic violence incident Wednesday morning has lead to the arrest of a 39-year-old man.

Dimas Gustovos Lopez-Nova, of 25 Hoover Road, was arrested on 3rd-degree assault and disorderly conduct charges. He is accused of kicking the victim with whom he was arguing.

He was released on $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear Thursday in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A man living in Greenwich admitted to Greenwich Police he was an illegal immigrant and forged documents to register a car so he could drive to work, was arrested Tuesday.

Police were called to 623 W. Putnam Ave. because of a dispute between one man trying retrieve the car he entrusted to a friend, who refused to do so. Oscar I. Cruz, 22, of 16 St. Roch Place, was arrested on 2nd-degree forgery, interfering with an officers and failure to have an operator’s license charges. According to a Grenwich Police report, Cruz admitted to forging the documents and title to the car that was registered in a friend’s name “because he is illegal and does not have an ID card.”

Cruz was held without bond and detained for US Customs and Immigration.
