Man Charged with Sexual Assault

A 23-year-old Greenwich man has been arrested in connection with entering a town residence and sexually assaulting a woman.

According to a police report, Gerge M. Evans, 23, of 20 Wyngate Rd., Greenwich, surrendered to Greenwich Police Monday. Police had obtained an arrest warrant charging him with 2nd-degree burglary, 2nd-degree breach of peace and 4th-degree sexual assault in connection with the May 22 incident. Evans is accused of entered the victim's residence through the second floor, and touching the victim.

He was released on a $5,000 vond and scheduled to appear aug. 1 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested on a 6th-degree larceny charge in connection with the theft of a bicycle at Byram Shubert Library.

According to a Greenwich Police report, the suspect was seen on a surveillance video stealing the $200 bike from outside the library at 21 Mead Ave. on July 21. The suspect admitted the theft and the bicycle has been returned to its owner, according to the report. The teen was released on a promised to appear Aug. 2 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A 16-year-old girl has been arrested in connection with the theft of clothing from a Greenwich Avenue business on May 22.

The suspect, who admitted to stealing an unspecified amount of clothing from the unidentified store on May 22, surrendered to Greenwich Police who obtained an arrest warrant.

She was released on a promise to appear Aug. 8 in the Juvenile Matters Division of state Superior Court in Stamford.
