Man Faces Charges He Sold Cocaine Near School

Greenwich PD: Suspect was the target of a five-month investigation.

 

A five-month long investigation into cocaine dealing in Greenwich has netted the arrest of a 43-year-old man from New Rochelle, NY.

According to a Greenwich Police report, the department's Narcotics Section investigated the sales of cocaine in town. On Jan. 25, they obtained search warrants for him and his car. On Jan 31, Matthew E. Williams, 43, of 7 Pinebrook Rd., New Rochelle, was spotted driving in Greenwich and stopped by officers who conducted the searches, according to the report.

Williams was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of cocaine within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of cocaine with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school. The report did not identify the school in Greenwich.

Williams was released after posting $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear Feb. 7 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
