Greenwich Man Faces Charges He Threatened Wife with A Chair


A 55-year-old Greenwich man is facing threatening and disorderly conduct charges stemming from a domestic violence incident during which he swung a chair at his wife and tried to kick down a door where his wife his wife sought refuge.

According to a Greenwich Police report, the man was intoxicated and became upset when he could not find his money in his South Water Street home about 1:05 p.m. Dec. 18. The man, who is not being identified to protect the identity of the victim, then began arguing with his wife and throwing objects at her, according to the report.

The man is accused of picking up a chair and swinging it at the victim who fled to seek shelter nearby. The suspect then tried to kick down the door where the victim was, according to the report.

The man posted a $1,000 bond and was scheduled to appear Dec. 19 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
