Man Faces Charges of Burglarizing Home in his Neighborhood

A Greenwich man, who already has eight burglary and larceny cases pending against him, was arrested Tuesday on charges he burglarized a home in his neighborhood.

According to a Greenwich Police report, Robert M. Wolterstorff, 20, of 54 N. Old Stone Bridge Rd., was arrested around 5 p.m. July 15 on charges he burglarized a home on Holly Way, a short distance away from his home off Cat Rock Road in Cos Cob, early that morning.

Police responded to the Holly Way home about 6:30 a.m. where residents reported interrupting a burglary, according to the report. "Information provided by witnesses and evidence recovered from the scene led investigators to Robert Wolterstorff," officers wrote in the report.

Wolterstorff was charged with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree larceny. He was held in lieu of $50,000 bond and scheduled to appear July 19 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

This is the latest in a series of arrests for Wolterstorff. He was arrested June 27 on charges of credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card, sixth-degree larceny and obtaining goods illegally in connection with a May 14 incident reported by an Old Camp Lane resident.
