Man Faces Public Indecency Charge

Greenwich Police say arrest stems from incident at Audubon Greenwich.

 

A member of a cleaning crew at Audubon Greenwich has been arrested on a public indecency charge stemming from an incident at the backcountry nature retreat this week.

According to Greenwich Police, Guilherme S. Chaves, 39, of 6 Nancy Dr., Danbury, was charged with second-degree breach of peace and public indecency in connection with the Feb. 5 incident reported about 12:35 p.m.

Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray said a female employee of Audubon observed Chaves masturbating in the Audubon center and called police. He said Chaves was a member of a cleaning crew contracted by the Audubon.

Chaves was released after posting $500 bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 13 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
