Man Faces Strangulation Charge

Argument between a couple ends with man's arrest.

 

A Greenwich man faces charges he choked a woman and hit her with a cell phone during an argument in her Greenwich home early Monday.

The victim told Greenwich Police she nearly lost consciousness when the suspect choked her during the argument reported shortly after 2 a.m. Oct. 8, according to a police report. A witness corroborated the victim's story and police saw marks on the victim's face and neck.

Pablo A. Alvarez, 27, of 93 Wilbur Peck Ct., Greenwich, was charged with second-degree strangulation, third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. He was released on a $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear Oct. 9 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

The report did not indicate whether the victim needed medical treatment.
