Man Falsely Reports He Killed His Girlfriend

Greenwich PD: Suspect called 911 to report he murdered his girlfriend but then recants, saying he wanted to kill her.

A Stamford man faces charges of falsely reporting an incident after he called Greenwich Police to report he had killed his girlfriend.

During the call the suspect then told the 911 dispatcher he didn't kill the girlfriend "but he wanted" to "and to send the police," according to a Greenwich Police report.

Henry Jara-Villamarin, 19, who gave an address of 45 Halpin Ave., Stamford, told police he was in the parking lot of the at 48 W. Putnam Ave. The dispatcher reported that during the call a woman's voice could be heard in the background.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m. Jan. 18, officers found the couple in a car parked in the lot. Jara-Villamarin told officers the pair were arguing and "he wanted her to get out of the car. ... when she refused, he grabbed her phone and dialed 911. According to Jara-Villamarin, he made the statement that he had killed his girlfriend to expedite (police) response."

Jara-Villamarin was charged with second-degree falsely reporting an incident and falsely reporting an incident concerning serious injury or death. He was held in lieu of $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear Jan. 25 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Police would not say what the couple had argued about.
