Man Held in Byram Assault

Police say suspect restrained, threatened victim.

 

A 24-year-old man from Norwalk was arrested on a variety of assault-related charges stemming from an incident in which a victim was hit, threatened and restrained, according to Greenwich Police.

The incident on West Church Street in the Byram section of Greenwich occurred shortly after 11 p.m. Jan. 10 and ended with the arrest of Miles Sy,  of 1 Kellogg St., Norwalk. According to a Greenwich Police report, Sy was found in a Town of Greenwich Housing Authority property from which he has been banned since 2008.

The victim, whose face was bruised, told police that Sy "threw her to the floor, restrained her within a bedroom against her will and threatened to make the next hit worth his while if she" reported the incident to police, according to a police report.

Sy was charged with third-degree assault, threatening, disorderly conduct, first-degree unlawful restraint and first-degree criminal trespass. He was held in lieu of $25,000 bond and was scheduled to appear Jan. 11 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

The police report did not indicate whether the victim needed medical treatment.
