Men Face Assault Charges in Separate Greenwich Incidents

Greenwich police reports.

A man who Greenwich Police say followed another man out of a restaurant restroom and onto Railroad Avenue and assaulted him, after the pair apparently bumped into one another, has been arrested on an assault charge.

Lt. Robert Berry said the suspect followed the victim out of the unidentified restaurant about 7:45 a.m. Sept. 12 and attacked him from behind after a bathroom bumping incident. Matthew M. Asea, 30, of 403 Greenwich Ave., was arrested on third-degree assault and disorderly conduct charges.

Asea had fled the scene and was found heading toward his apartment building, according to police. He posted a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear Sept. 20 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

An incident in White Plains, NY ended in Greenwich with an argument and the arrest of a Greenwich man.

According to a Greenwich Police report, Vittorio Novello, 29, of 9 Melrose Ave., Greenwich, was involved in an argument about an incident that occurred in White Plains with an unidentified victim who is accused of "smacking in the back of the head."

Novello was charged with disorderly conduct about 1:40 a.m. Sept. 19 in his home, where the argument occurred. He was released on a promise to appear Sept. 19 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
