Motorist Faces Charge

A driver who was stopped by Greenwich Police because of a defective rear tail light was arrested on a failure to appear in court charge.

According to a Greenwich Police report, Marika McLaughlin, 34, of 305 Hycliff Terr., Stamford, was arrested Feb. 6 on Laddin's Rock Road after an officer spotted the defective light. A records check indicated she was driving with a suspended license and that there was an arrest warrant for her, charging her with second-degree failure to appear in court.

McLaughlin was released after posting $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 14 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

The report did not indicate whether she was ticketed for operating with a suspended license and the broken tail light.
