Motorists Face Multiple Charges

A roundup of recent Greenwich arrests.

 

A driver who Greenwich Police stopped for speeding on Byram Road faces a number of charges ranging from forgery to marijuana possession charges.

According to a Greenwich Police report, Stephen Kimmons, 20, of 9 Birdsall Dr., Port Chester, NY, was arrested just before 1:40 a.m. Oct. 22. While police were interviewing Kimmons about speeding with his black Ford Mustang, they smelled marijuana odors coming the car, according to the report. Officers found 31.8 grams of marijuana in a backpack during a search of the car, and a fake Connecticut driver's license.

Kimmons was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and second-degree forgery. He also was ticketed for speeding. Kimmons was released on a $1,500 bond and scheduled to appear Oct. 31 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A Norwalk man was arrested on evading responsibility and failure to drive in proper lane, stemming from a Sept 10 incident on East Putnam Avenue.

Rafael Aybar-Moriset, 23, of 26 Morton St., Norwalk, was arrested at 8:15 p.m. Oct. 22 by Greenwich Police who obtained an arrest warrant. He was released after posting $250 bond and scheduled to appear Nov. 8 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A motorist who Greenwich Police stopped for failing to yield to a pedestrian at a crosswalk also faces a charge of operating with a suspended license, according to police.

According to a police report, Jan Sofranko, 49, of 51 Harbor St., Stamford, was charged following the Oct. 24 incident at about 5:15 p.m. Police discovered that Sofranko's license had been suspended following a drunk driving arrest in July 2011. He was released after posting a $750 bond and scheduled to appear Nov. 8 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A 40-year-old Davis Avenue woman was arrested on domestic violence-related charges following a fight with a 48-year-old man on Oct. 22.

The woman is accused of cutting the man's arm and causing minor facial redness, according to a Greenwich Police report. She was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. She was released after posting a $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear Oct. 23 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A Yonkers, NY woman was arrested Oct. 19 on a charge of credit card theft, according to police.

Gianletty P. Ramirez, 24, of 80 School St., was arrested at her place of employment, according to a police report. Details about the incident which was reported June 27, were not provided by police.

Ramirez was released after posting $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear Oct. 26 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Ludin Garcia, 31, of 155 William St., Rye Brook, NY, was arrested Oct. 19 on charges of evading responsibility and following too close in connection with an Aug. 31 incident on Byram Road. Garcia posted a $200 bond and was scheduled to appear Oct. 29 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Police investigating a report of domestic on Division Street West ended up charging an 18-year-old woman on a disorderly conduct charge and her boyfriend on drug-related charges.

According to a police report, a Wednesday afternoon argument between the pair escalated with the woman throwing a soda at the 24-year-old man. The man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and given an infraction ticket for possession of marijuana. He was released on a $286 bond and scheduled to appear Nov. 9 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

The woman was released after posting a $500 bond and scheduled to appear Oct. 31 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Seems to me you are missing the most obvious which is shown in the photo used at the top ofRead More Greenwich Patch pages - Grass Island Marina/Park is directly across the waterway. You won't be able to see much of the stage front but you can certainly enjoy the tunes.
