No Injuries in Central Greenwich Crash [UPDATE]

An SUV crashed into 2 parked cars in front of Whole Foods market.

Update 3:20 p.m. May 29:

The driver of the SUV that crashed through a metal fence and landed atop two cars parked below the Whole Foods market on East Putnam Avenue on Monday apparently thought she put the vehicle in reverse, according to Greenwich Police.

Traffic Division Sgt. John Slusarz said, "The driver put the BMW in gear and went forward instead of backwards. It went through the metal fence and onto the parked cars" below.

"There was a warning issued for making an unsafe movement from a stopped position," Slusarz said. "She didn't realize it was in drive."

No one was injured in the crash reported shortly after 10 a.m. May 28.

No one was injured when a BMW SUV apparently went over the edge of the Whole Foods market parking lot and crashed into 2 cars parked on the street below on Monday morning.

According to Greenwich Fire Dispatch, the crash occurred about 10:10 a.m., May 28 at the Whole Foods shopping center, 90 E. Putnam Ave.

Greenwich police said there weren't any injuries or arrests, and that the cause of the crash is under investigation.
