Norwalk Man Charged with Violation of Protective Order

Greenwich Police reports for Jan. 11-13

 

A Norwalk man was arrested and charged with violation of a protective order and possession of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop on Saturday, Jan. 12.

According to police, an officer on patrol stopped a vehicle on Ritch Avenue in Byram at about 9:50 p.m. and learned that a female passenger in the car had an active protective order against the driver, identified as Christian J. Brito, 31, of 19 Pulaski St., Norwalk.

Police said the protective order states that Brito is to have no contact with the female and is to stay at least 100 yards away from her at all times.

Police said a search of the vehicle yielded a quantity of marijuana under four ounces as well as drug paraphernalia.

In addition to violation of a protective order and possession of marijuana, Brito was charged with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana with intent to sell. He was released on a $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 14.

John Joseph Novak, 21, of Windsor Lane, Greenwich, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol during the early morning hours on Saturday, Jan. 12.

Police said an officer on patrol on East Putnam Avenue in Cos Cob observed Novak's vehicle traveling east at a high rate of speed at about 2:42 a.m.

After stopping the vehicle, the officer noticed that Novak was exhibiting signs of intoxication. When asked if he had consumed any alcohol that evening, Novak reportedly told the officer that he had consumed "a few beers." He reportedly failed a field sobriety test.

Novak was also charged with traveling unreasonably fast. He was released on a promise to appear in court on Jan. 28.

A 33-year-old male resident of Henry Street was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct as a result of a domestic dispute that occurred during the late evening on Sunday, Jan. 13.

Police were called to the apartment at about 11:15 p.m. on a report of someone breaking things inside. The female who reported the incident informed police that she was fearful for her well being due to past incidents with the male subject.

The male subject was subsequently arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. He was held on a $1,000 bond and was to be arraigned on Jan. 14.

A 29-year-old female Greenwich resident was arrested and charged with third degree assault and disorderly conduct following a domestic dispute that occurred on the morning of Saturday, Jan. 12.

Police said officers responded to a residence on Pine Street on a report of a domestic violence incident in progress. On arrival police learned that the female had slapped another individual in the face, resulting in a minor injury. A police report does not state what the victim's relation is to the female.

The female was released on a promise to appear in court the same day.

A 51-year-old male Greenwich resident was arrested and charged with violation of a protective order on Friday, Jan. 11.

Police said officers responded to a residence on Lismore Lane upon learning that the male on the premises was in violation of a protective order.

The male resident posted a $2,500 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 14.
