Old Greenwich Man Injured in Trumbull Crash

The car went off the road early Friday near exit 6 in an unlit area of the southbound Rt. 25 Connector in Trumbull

An Old Greenwich man suffered serious chest injuries and and his female passenger was stable after their 2002 Honda Civic left the Connector and hit a tree early Friday, trapping them.

and volunteer firefighters freed the two in about 20 minutes, said Alex Rauso Jr., Long Hill Assistant Fire Chief.

State Police identified the driver as Jeremy R. Jones, 41, of Palmer Hill Road, Old Greenwich, and his passenger as Jennifer L. Mcburney, 40, of South Brunswick, N.J.

medics took both to St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, where their conditions were unavailable. State police said McBurney was stable with a broken left foot and left upper arm and lacerations to her hands and face.

Jones suffered an "incapacitating chest injury," state police said.

Rauso said the car left the road at some point before 1 a.m. early Friday and hit the tree, part of which fell onto the car and pushed the passenger front wheel into the passenger side.

"It made for a difficult extrication. They were able to get both out in 20 minutes," Rauso said.

The section of highway was unlit so it was not clear when the car left the road, Rauso said.
