A 14-year-old Greenwich boy is facing a sixth-degree larceny charge after the necklace he gave his girlfriend wasn't his to give away.
According to a Greenwich Police report, the teen was arrested Sept. 26 after the juvenile "stole a necklace from his mother and then gave the necklace to his girlfriend." The girlfriend, who had possession of the jewelry, told police that the boy said it was a gift.
"Mother did not give permission for the son to take and give away her property," an officer wrote in the report. The report did not include a description of the necklace.
The teen was scheduled to appear Oct. 6 in the Juvenile Matters Division of state Superior Court in Stamford.
