Pair Charged with Soliciting Auto Repair Work in Parking Lot

Greenwich arrest roundup include DWI, drug busts.

A pair of Brooklyn, NY men face charges they illegally solicited automotive repair work from visitors in the parking lot of the Riverside Commons shopping center.

According to a Greenwich Police report released June 6, both men were charged with failure to have a motor vehicle repair license, failure to provide a motor vehicle repair estimate and failure to have a tax stamp or ID, on May 30. They were identified as Donny Thompson, 41, and Jonny Thompson, 64.

They were released after posting $150 bond each and scheduled to appear June 6 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A New Rochelle, NY man was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge following a motor vehicle accident shortly before 4 p.m. June 5 on Indian Head Road.

According to a Greenwich Police report, Luis A. Moreno, 32, of 234 Drake Ave., New Rochelle, also was charged with unsafe movement and refusal to be fingerprinted. The report did not include details of the accident.

Moreno was held in lieu of $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear June 20 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A Norwalk man was issued an infraction summons on a charged of posession of a marijuana less than four ounces following a motor vehicle stop on June 2.

According to a police report, Jose M. Villacis-Maruri, 51, of 21 Grove St., Norwalk, was issued the summons after a "K-9 sniff" revealed the suspected marijuana. Further details were not provided in the report.
