Panhandling Report Leads to Woman's Arrest

Greenwich Police arrested a woman wanted for failing to appear in court three times.


While investigating a report that a woman was soliciting money, apparently from motorists, on the southbound Exit 3 ramp of I-95, Greenwich Police arrested a woman wanted for failig to appear in court.

According to a police report, the arrest was made shortly after noon March 11.

The woman, identified as Ivy A. Spillman, 21, of Orange, CA, was charged with three counts of failure to appear in court. According to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website, Spillman was named in arrest warrants obtained by Norwalk Police who issued her infraction tickets on three occasions in July and August 2013 for simple trespass.

Spillman is accused of failing to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk to answer the infractions in December 2013.

She was unable to post $250 bond and is scheduled to appear March 19 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
