2 Burglaries Under Investigation

Greenwich Police say they are investigating the burglaries of a business and a home in town.

Greenwich Police are investigating two burglaries in which money and jewelry were taken, and an attempted burglary of a home.

According to police, someone stole "a small amount of money" from the Kaia Yoga and Juice Bar at 328 Pemberwick Rd. The theft was reported at 9:53 a.m. March 7. Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray said it is not known how entry was made to the business.

And there weren't any signs of forced entry to a home on Morningside Drive in the Cos Cob section of town, that was burglarized March 9, Gray said. The residents apparently were out for the evening and returned home late Saturday to discover the theft of an undetermined amount of jewelry, Gray said.

According to Gray, there was an attempted burglary of a Butternut Hollow Road home on March 4. "There was an attempted forced entry via the back door. The alarm system was activitated" by the attempted break-in, Gray said.

"This is an opportunity to remind citizens that alarms can help to deter burglars. They need to be sure to turn them on and to use the locks on their doors," Gray said.
