Police Investigate Car, Golf Club Burglaries

Thousands in commercial lawn equipment; prescription drugs, computers were reported stolen to Greenwich Police.

 

Thieves forced their way into a storage shed at the Tamarack Country Club in backcountry Greenwich and got away with "several thousand dollars worth of commercial lawn equipment," according to Greenwich Police.

The theft from the club's shed at 55 Locust Rd., was reported just before 10 a.m. Jan. 31, according to police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray.

Residents of a Birch Lane home reported that someone entered their home and stole an unspecified amount of prescription pain medications kept in a medicine cabinet.

The theft was reported on Feb. 3 after the residents returned after being away for several days, Gray said. Burglars apparently forced open a door to the home before stealing the prescriptions and other household items.

Computers were reported stolen from a car left parked overnight in the Equinox health club parking lot on Old Track Road. The theft occured overnight Jan. 30 and was reported just before noon Jan. 31, according police. A window was broken to gain access to a bag that contained a computer and a tablet reader. No value was given on the items.

A North Street resident reported Feb. 3 that someone broke a car window and stole an overnight bag filled with clothing. The clothing was valued at less than $200, according to Gray.
