While responding to the North Street area, police observed a red sedan traveling north at a high rate of speed on North Street. After stopping the car near Lower Cross Road, police observed that the operator, Cardile, was exhibiting signs of intoxication. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed an AR-15 assault rifle, three handguns and some ammunition, according to the police report.

Police said the pair fired "multiple rounds" from the vehicle as they drove through Greenwich — however the report does not state which firearms were used or whether anything specific was targeted.
