Police Use Taser on Uncooperative Driver; Former School Worker Charged with Theft

A town man was arrested on a charge he interfered with Greenwich police who stopped to check on him as his car idled at a red light on the Post Road.

Kastriot Djema, 19, who gave an address of 28 Columbus Ave., was arrested about 1:25 a.m. Friday. According to a police report, Djema sat through two cycles of the red light and was found asleep in his car with his foot on the brake.  After officers awakened Djema, he was given field sobriety tests. When he failed the test, according to police, Djema refused to cooperate when told he would be arrested on a drunken driving charge. An officer had to use a Taser to subdue Djema who was taken to Greenwich Hospital for evaluation.

He was later released on a $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear  June 3 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A Stratford man, who Greenwich Police say is a former employee of Greenwich Catholic School, was arrested Saturday on a charge he stole money from former co-workers.

According to a press release, Timothy J. Calzone, 22, who gave an address of  80 Prayer Spring Rd., Stratford, admitted to the theft and was charged with 4th-degree larceny. Details on when the theft occurred or how much money was taken were not available.

He was released after posting $250 bond and scheduled to appear May 31 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
