Port Chester Man Faces Burglary Charges

Greenwich Police charge suspect after he's released from Westchester County Jail.

Greenwich Police have charged a Port Chester, NY man in connection with four burglaries dating back to 2007 and 2009.

According to police reports, Charles M. Ross, 42, who gave an address of 30 Oak St., Port Chester, was arrested by police who obtained four arrest warrants charging him with for one 2009 burglary and credit card theft case, and three incidents of failing to appear in court on charges from three other burglary cases dating back to 2007 and 2009.

Ross was arrested by Greenwich Police when he was released from the Westchester County Correctional Center in Valhalla, NY and waived extradition to Connecticut, according to the reports. It was not immediately clear why he was in the county jail.

According to the police reports, Ross is charged with:

  • First-degree failure to appear in court  following his Aug. 2, 2009 arrest in connection with a Perryridge Road burglary;
  • Third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny, credit card thieft, first-degree failure to appear in court in connection with a June 27, 2009 burglary and credit card theft on Riverdale Avenue;
  • First-degree failure to appear in court on forgery and larceny charges stemming from a Feb. 3, 2009 incident on East Putnam Avenue,
  • First-degree failure to appear in court on burglary and credit card theft charges dating back to Dec. 17, 2007.

He was held in lieu of a total of $63,500 set on all the charges and was to appear May 1 in state Superior Court in Stamford, according to police.
