Quartet Nabbed for Shoplifting

Four Bronx, NY residents charged in connection with theft of $4K in clothing from store.

Three women and a man spotted by employees of a Greenwich Avenue shop became suspicious of them because they had empty shopping bags.

And it appears the employees' hunches were right. After calling Greenwich Police to report their suspicions, officers found the group including the man who apparently drove off. While police stopped the driver a few blocks away on Arch Street at Steamboat Road, investigators worked with store employees and reviewed store surveillance tapes.

It turns out, according to the police report, inside the Jeep the man was driving were 13 pieces of clothing from the Alice + Olivia store that were not in shopping bags and for which there wasn't a receipt. Store employees later identified the quartet not making any purchases while in the store, shortly before 4 p.m. July 31.

The three women were identified as Angelina Pimentel, 22, Kiana Brooks, 20, and Crysan Sariese Garriques, 22, all of the Bronx. Each was charged with third-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny.
