Roommate Charged with Trying to Flush Away Evidence

Two roommates, one of whom was the object of a Greenwich Police narcotics investigation, were arrested on drug-related charges Wednesday.

According to a Greenwich Police report, one of the men tried flush evidence down a toilet when police were executing a search warrant for the pair’s apartment at 25 Hawthorne St. South at about 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Jazmanny Cardona, 18, was charged with possession of marijuana under 4 ounces; possession of drug paraphernalia, destruction of evidence and conspiracy to possess marijuana. Police claim Cardona purchased marijuana from his roommate, identified as Miguel Rivera, 26, and found marijuana in the toilet of their second-floor apartment.

Rivera faces charges of possession of marijuana under 4 ounces; possession of drug paraphernalia, conspiracy to possess marijuana, intent to possess marijuana under 1 kilogram and operating a drug factory. He was held in lieu of $75,000 bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 16 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Cardona was released on a promise to appear in Feb.23 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Sheena Dume, 18, of 12 Castle Court, Stamford, was arrested on a second-degree failure to appear in court Wednesday afternoon.

The charges stem from a November arrest on charges of sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. She was released after posting $1,500 bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 16 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Two Greenwich women were arrested on disorderly conduct charges Wednesday morning in connection with an altercation at their home Stanwich Road home.

Olga Gottlieb, 35, and Deborah Gottlieb, 21, both of 127 Stanwich Road, were charged for the minor argument, according to Greenwich Police.

Both women were released on promises to appear Thursday in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Jean Dume, 45, of 78 Oak Ridge Road, Greenwich, was arrested on charges of third-degree assault and disorderly conduct stemming from a November fight at his home.

He was arrested at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday. Further details were unavailable from Greenwich Police.

He was held in lieu of $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear Wednesday in state Superior Court in Stamford.
