Greenwich PD: Residents robbed by duo who 'concealed their faces.'

Greenwich Police say they are following up on leads in the July 24 home invasion in which a pair of masked gunmen robbed a woman on an unspecified amount of jewelry.

Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray said Monday that —in the 500 block of Round Hill Road—by the duo who brandished a handgun about 10 p.m. July 24. The woman was restrained by the men, Gray said.

Gray said information regarding the amount of jewelry stolen or how the men forced their way into the home would not be released. He did say that investigators are working to determine whether the incident is related to an attempted burglary earlier that day at a nearby home on Burying Hill Road.

Residents of a Round Hill Road home were robbed by two suspects who Greenwich Police say "had concealed their faces" shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray would not reveal how the robbers gained entry to the home located in the 500 block of Round Hill Road. The robbery was reported at 10:14 p.m. July 24.

Gray said, "The private residents reported they had been robbed. We are in the early stages of our investigation—the fact-finding mode. We are taking it very seriously and are not releasing any information regarding the investigation."

A canine unit from Stamford Police was brought to the scene to track for leads. The victims were not injured in the incident, Gray said.

Gray also would not discuss:

  • Whether the robbers were armed
  • What was taken
  • How the robbers fled the scene
  • Whether the victims were tied up
  • Whether any suspects have been identified
  • Whether the victims were specifically targeted by the robbers

"We encourage citizens to remain alert to their surroundings. If they have alarm systems, use them. If they see anything suspicious to contact police ... take precautions," Gray said.
