Rye Brook Man Punches Wall After Being Arrested for DUI

A 59 year-old man was arrested by Greenwich police on Wednesday after officers allegedly witnessed him driving erratically on West Putnam Avenue.

A 59 year-old Rye Brook man was arrested Tuesday afternoon for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol after officers witnessed him operating his vehicle erratically on East Putnam Avenue, according to reports provided by the Greenwich Police Department.

Patrol officers were alerted to a maroon Jeep Cherokee with New York license plates that was possibly being operated by an intoxicated driver, according to police. The officers followed the vehicle as it was traveling westbound on East Putnam Avenue and saw that it was straddling the double yellow lines. As it continued to travel, the vehicle started crossing over into two westbound travel lanes, police said. It then attempted to make a left turn onto Milbank Avenue where it almost collided with vehicles driving in the opposite direction.

The vehicle was pulled over and as the officer approached it, the driver, Joseph Breslin of 54 Woodland Drive, started to exit, according to police. The officer said that Breslin stared at him for a few seconds before asking, "What the [expletive] do you want?"

The officer, according to the report, observed that Breslin had glassy and blood shot eyes, slurred speech and that he smelled alcohol coming from his breath and from the car. Breslin was then taken into custody.

After arriving at the police department, the officer said that Breslin struggled with him when he was asked to exit the police car. The report also states that Breslin became "belligerent" and punched a wall as he was being processed. He was later taken to Greenwich Hospital for treatment.

Breslin was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, failure to drive right, failure to drive in the proper lane, failure to grant row at intersection and interfering with a police officer. He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 6.

Seems to me you are missing the most obvious which is shown in the photo used at the top ofRead More Greenwich Patch pages - Grass Island Marina/Park is directly across the waterway. You won't be able to see much of the stage front but you can certainly enjoy the tunes.
