Security Guard Charged in Greenwich Hospital Scuffle

Charges issued following altercation in hospital emergency room.

Two men — including a security guard at — were charged with disorderly conduct following an argument in the emergency room early Saturday.

According to a report, there was a dispute between hospital security officers and a former patient shortly after 2 a.m., Dec. 10. Police gave this account of the incident: "Security guard Sergio Maz got into a verbal argument with Mikel Gjuraj over the fact the hospital would not see his brother Mark ... that while they were escorting Gjuraj out of the ER, Mark Gjuraj spit in the face of Haz. That once outside the hospital Haz then took Gjuraj to the ground." And then "Mark Gjuraj kicked Haz in the head," according to the report.

Mark Gjuraj, 23, who gave an address of 56 Fox Glen Rd., Stamford, and Haz, 36, who gave an address of 40 St. Roch Ave., Greenwich, each were issued a misdemeanor summons. They were scheduled to appear Dec. 29 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
