Several Greenwich Residents Face Domestic Violence Related Charges

Greenwich Police have been busy investigating several reported domestic violence incidents.


Several Greenwich residents are facing a variety of charges including disorderly conduct, assault and strangulation in connection with a series of arguments and assaults investigated by Greenwich Police.

A 38-year-old Shore Road resident is facing disorderly conduct and interfering with a 911 call charges following an argument in his home shortly after 12 a.m. May 14. An argument between the man and the victim turned physical with the man taking the phone from the victim who was trying to call 911, according to a police report. The victim reported the suspect grabbed both of her wrists tightly. He was released after posting $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear May 14 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on third-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and third-degree assault charges after police were called to a Stanwich Road home about 8 p.m. May 10. The man apparently argued with his 42-year-old fiance who threw a glass at him. The man is accused of using a baseball bat to smash the windows of the woman's car. The woman was charged with disorderly conduct, according to a police report. He was released after posting a $1,000 bond. She was released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A 52-year-old Buckfield Lane man was arrested on a second-degree breach of peace charge following an argument during which he is accused of cursing at and shoving the victim shortly before 10 p.m. May 10. He was released on a $1,000 bond and was scheduled to appear May 12 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A 28-year-old man from Staten Island, NY is facing a criminal violation of a restraining order charge after Greenwich Police found him near an Armstrong Court residence about 11 a.m. May 11. The protected person has a court order barring the man to stay at least 100 yards away from them. The suspect was found about 150 feet from the person's residence. He was released after posting $10,000 bond and scheduled to appear May 12 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Two Greenwich men are facing assault and disorderly conduct charges following a fight between a father and his two sons. The 54-year-old father and his 19-year-old son are accused of assaulting the other son, causing a minor injury during a May 7 argument in a Brookside Drive home, according to a police report. The father was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree strangulation and disorderly conduct. He posted a $2,500 bond. The 19-year-old was charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and two counts of assault on a police officer when he allegedly attempted to fight with two police officers, causing them minor injuries. He posted a $5,000 bond.
